Synopsis "The Pandemic Report"
This book is an Historical Fiction account of the 1918 Influenza Pandemic that killed as many as 50 million people around the world, in less than two years' time. Imagine, that in such a short period of time, people from every walk of life all died within weeks or days after catching the flu. Shopkeepers, welders, carpenters. bankers, farmers, engineers, doctors, lawyers, people of every race and nationality, were suddenly erased from existence. Entire industries were left short of workers when many of their employees suddenly fell ill. Many would never return. Children were left to fend for themselves in the streets after both of their parents succumbed to this ailment that our doctors couldn't even yet see.The story is told by a young reporter who stumbled upon the pandemic by accident while in its early stages. Follow him over to Europe when he's drafted into WW1, and when an accident leaves him handicapped, he returns to the states where he picks up where he left off, now journeying the back-roads to report on what is happening in America during that horrific chapter of history that few people seem to know anything about.
