Synopsis "The Pope's Inquisitor: The Screenplay"

A COMEDY: Cardinal Lucio, during the middle ages, is the head of the Vatican's OFFICE OF THE INQUISITION AND PATENTS. It is up to Cardinal Lucio to keep the Pope advised on matters of all new concepts or inventions and to determine if the office he heads either declares such submissions as "patent friendly" or "heresy". Cardinal Lucio and his silly, but loyal assistant Orlando are kept busy looking for inventors that border on "heresy" in order to keep the Pope happy. Therefore, regularly must heretics be found in order for Cardinal Lucio to retain his position. Further, the Pope sends Cardinal Lucio on three major fund raiser missions for the Vatican treasury. Cardinal Lucio and Orlando must deal with teenagers seeking the devil at a small, but wealthy community, perform an exorcism and expel a creepy female ghost from a count's castle. If that was not enough, Orlando himself is declared a heretic and Cardinal Lucio's attempt to save his loyal assistant results in his arrest, too. A climax occurs when the Pope sentences both Cardinal Lucio and Orlando to be shot from two separate catapults from atop the highest mountain in the immediate area. Further, the Pope imposes Divine Intervention and should either or both of them survive, a full pardon will be given. When all seems lost, Cardinal Lucio out wits his executioners and he and Orlando receive an unexpected pardon and establish an Inn.
