Synopsis "The Prisoner's Silence"
Exposing the psychology of rape, castration, power, authority, resistance, revenge, and the theology of religion and sexual subjugation, the novel leads the reader to the darker dungeons of human survival. The story is of Thoma Kunj, a condemned prisoner for eleven years, accused of rape and murder of a minor girl he had not once seen. He never knew he was the scapegoat for the son of a politician. Razak was different; Thoma Kunj met him in prison. When thirteen, Razak ran away from home in Kerala to Arabia, taken to a harem to serve concubines of Muhammad Akeem, a dates palm planter. A castrated Razak underwent hell and, after nineteen years, escaped from the seraglio and returned to Kerala. An impotent Razak married and soon murdered his wife and her paramour. The death penalty is an absurd reality created by men. But the most incredible absurdity is executions in the name of Allah.
