Synopsis "The Quest: The Continuing Journey of K-Bridge Flock"

In the third installment of the K-Bridge flock's ongoing saga, the author takes us back to the series' first cliffhanger as we rejoin the five birds that make up the quest group, Crier, Kott, Whitehead, Dufus and Pepper as they are leaving the Northeast flocks meeting area to start the quest. A quest, that when fulfilled, will change all their lives forever. In this installment of the journey of discovery, the reader also goes on the journey with them, as the author cleverly creates twists and turns that keep us fully engaged with each character. As this segment of story unfolds, the reader is further introduced to the personality of each of the members of the quest group. We watch them grow as they go through the many difficulties that the quest presents; we see them develop from unknowing adolescence into young adult birds. In this book, as in the first two, the author continues with the theme a person (or a bird's) perspective is their reality. In book, one he deals not only with, a birds perspective is its reality, but also with the concept of friendship, leadership and trust. In book two, he again sticks with the main theme of the series as he deals with loyalty, death and game ranches. In book three we are again presented with the main theme of the series as we discover who Dufus really is and why he is the way he is. We learn more about Lite and how he has a pivotal role in Dufus's condition and how he is linked to Crafco, and his evil plot to become the lord of the railyard. In this segment of the story we see Pepper become the healer that the author alludes she could become in the first book. We see her intelligence, her boldness of actions; her compassion and caring as she is throw into an unbelievable set of circumstances, not only in saving Dufus's life but also in helping the crows overcome a devastating illness. We also see Crier slowly develop the skills to become an accomplished seerer. Once again, we are introduced to new characters that help the development of the story, but more importantly shows us how, during the course of our lives, as with the birds, we have individuals that wander in and out of our lives that have a purpose we may not fully understand as it is happening. The many characters Lucien uses to develop the plot in this third installment, all have a purpose we may not understand at first, but as in life, in retrospect, we learn to see their value. Lucien again intrigues us with his uncanny ability to get the reader into the heads of the various characters, to understand their though processes, so that we connect, and are engaged with their thoughts. We empathize and sympathize with the actions they take and consequences that their decisions cause. This book as the previous two books, as is true to the nature of the previous two books, he ends this one with a cliffhanger as well, and makes us wonder what is in store next for the heroic five. Join me in finding out what happened to the birds that went on the quest. A quest that was to be a no brainer, an easy jaunt on the recover the precious emblems. I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed the first two book, which when writing a series is a real accomplishment and I am very eager to see how the whole story ends. Lucien has the uncanny ability to make you believe that pigeons are more than just, rats of the sky. He engages the reader and makes you say, 'pigeons are in fact intelligent and caring creatures that occupy this planet with us, and have a right to be respected and loved. That maybe we even have something to be learn from them.'
