Synopsis "The Role of Anganwadi Workers in Improving Community Health Services"
Today ICDS represents one of the world's largest programmes for early childhood development. Pre-school education aims at ensuring holistic development of the children and to provide learning environment for children, which is helpful for the promotion of social, emotional, cognitive development of the child. As the Anganwadi worker is the key person in the programme, her education level and knowledge of nutrition pays an important role related to her performance at the Anganwadi Centre. It has also been reported that, in addition to education level, training of Anganwadi workers about growth monitoring plays a beneficial role in improving their performance. Research shows that Satisfaction level on various community services provide by the AWW under ICDS Schemes. In this study, I have observed the majority of respondents that means our society was not satisfied with the AWWs. AWCs need to be strengthened structure and supplies and AWWs need to be given more salary so that they can be motivated to take an interest in all activities of the project.
