Synopsis "The role of TNF -α, IL-8 and peripheral blood lymphocyts in HCV patient"
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a Hepacivirusof the Flaviviridae family, generally concerned with hepatic disorders, including chronic hepatitis that may develop to cirrhosis in about 10-20% of cases and then to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in 1-5% of cirrhotic cases. Cytokines serve as the immune response molecules which have various physiological functions and regulate the immunological, inflammatory and reparative host responses, and these are mainly secreted by lymphocytes and monocytes. This project is a method to ensure if the liver damage is due to the virus or to the presence of CD.
