Fires left charcoal rubble throughout the neighborhoods. Trucks and buses looked like twisted shrapnel. Food rationing, depleted housing and unemployment challenged the country.Throughout the London Blitz, British citizens rallied and defined their persistence to overcome the German invasion. Winston Churchill spent hours walking through London and encouraged citizens to keep calm and carry on.
