In this, the second installment of The Vanguard Anthologies, Synite returns as number two in Atlan's Profit Circle under Lady Amethyst, Queen of Atlan. He continues to pursue her allegiance while on his personal quest for freedom and truth, utilizing his powerful will and burgeoning support system.As they have decided to escape the clutches of the Enslaver, he, Psilos, Promis and the others organize. Their hegira is scheduled in the midst of the Earth Centennial Intragalactic Sprint, hosted by the Sword of Atlan, in which Proximity and Desha are participants. Promis and Fabric enlist the help of Kraa-Nuve, the legendary captain of the Caracalla, to aid their exodus from Earth 11.No plan goes without its hitches, as Synite and company learn, even with meticulous attention to every step. And, unfortunately for them, the Enslaver's thumb stretches far beyond their assumptions. It will not allow such valued, champion-caliber property to flee so easily.Synite grows to lead his circle into what he hopes is a peaceful future but, even if temporary peace and other accomplishments are achieved, what then?
