Aspiring singer Jessie Delaney has two loves - sweetheart Harry and the music halls. Feeling trapped by her lot in life, she's desperate to the get break of a lifetime. Music has always been a solace and Jessie thinks the theatre could be her chance to make a new life for herself. When Harry is enlisted and sent off to fight, Jessie turns to new friends and fellow singers Frances and Dolly to help see her through the tough times. Can Jessie follow her dream and find happiness on- and off-stage?
