Synopsis "Tire Treads Up My Back: How I Started at the Bottom and Ended Up Running the Place"
The author began his full time working career upon graduation from High School at age 18, as an Industrial Electrical Apprentice at a Big Three, automobile assembly plant in Detroit, Michigan. Upon completion of his apprenticeship, he was drafted into the armed forces of the United States, where he subsequently served on active duty, as an enlisted man in the United States Navy for six years. In the Navy, the author was trained as a Submarine, Nuclear Power Plant, Electrical Operator, and served aboard a Nuclear Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine. Of the next 35 years of the author's working life, he spent approximately 8 years in the heavy construction industry, in positions ranging from Field Engineer to Project Manager, including 5-1/2 years working in the Middle East. The majority of his working career was spent in industrial manufacturing, in positions ranging from Journeyman Electrician to Plant Manager. The author's manufacturing experience was primarily centered in the area of Manufacturing Engineering. He passed away suddenly on September 26th, 2015.
