Synopsis "Turmoil: A Paige Harrington Mystery"

Sokanon Crowchild, a respected First Nations spokesperson, and anti-pipeline protest leader has gone missing. Dexter Bates, an outspoken, politically incorrect pipeliner has often publicly stated no one would ever interfere with his pipelines, particularly some old squaw and her band of looney followers. Nothing will stand in Bates's path to success. Bates becomes the leading suspect. The issue is complicated when Roger Greycloud, a First Nations chief, fearful of losing pipeline revenue, sides with Bates. Unfortunately, Greycloud goes missing at the same time as Sokanon Crowchild. Sokanon Crowchild's daughter phones her longtime friend, Paige Harrington, a top international investigative journalist, who lives in New York City. Paige is a native Albertan and flies to Calgary to help find Sokanon. Sokanon Crowchild's older daughter, missing since her birth forty-five years earlier, and the possibility of a multi-billion dollar inheritance from an unknown biological father, complicate the search. So does the kidnapping of Paige's assistant and the killing of a young man, a friend of the twenty-one-year-old daughter of the Bates backed Progressive Conservative candidate for Premier.
