Synopsis "Unchanging and Unshakable"

Who Is E. Stanley Jones? Stanley Jones went to India as a young man in the first decade of the 1900s. It soon became apparent that he was a gifted preacher/evangelist and writer. Over the years between 1925 and 1973 he wrote 28 books. He was widely quoted by preachers because of the clarity and depth of his writings. As his career progressed, be began to conduct evangelistic meetings on most of the continents of the world. Hundreds of thousands of persons came to Christ under his preaching. Later in his career, he devoted half of his time speaking in the U.S. and leading retreats patterned after what he had been doing in India. This book is designed to re-introduce pastors, teachers, missionaries, other church leaders and lay persons to Stanley Jones' books, especially those who have not been introduced to this man of God before.. The main themes of his books are presented in nine sections with forty-two shorter readings for easier access. The sections are entitled: - The Unchanging Person: Jesus Christ - The Unshakable Kingdom of God - Conversion - Surrender - Guidance - The Church (including Evangelism and Missions) - Victorious and Abundant Living - Steps Out of Life's Problems - Steps up to Victory Al Jansen is a retired pastor who met and was greatly influenced by E. Stanley Jones early in his own ministry. This influence greatly shaped Al's theology, his world view and his approach to ministry. He is convinced that modern day church leaders will find this man's writings as relevant and thought provoking today as they were when they were first written. Al and his wife now live in Phoenix, Arizona.
