Synopsis "Versatile Electrospinning Polymeric Nanofibers"
Nanocomposites are usually multiphase materials with significant proportions of each phase where one of the phases has one, two or three dimensions of less than 100 nm. The nanocomposites are widely applied in various fields ranging from electronics, sensors, solar cells, fuel cells, batteries, filters to bio-engineering fields such as tissue engineering and drug delivery. The word "Nanofibers" is commonly divided into two parts, namely "nano" and fibers which have higher aspect ratio combined with their microporous structure which favors migration, cell adhesion, differentiation, and proliferation, all of which are highly desired properties for tissue engineering. The most promising technique for tissue regeneration is tissue repair by autologous cell/tissue transplantation. Tissue engineering is an emerging interdisciplinary field to achieve the goal of tissue regeneration. To improve the tissue function and maintenance, tissue engineering approaches makes use of biomaterials, cells etc.
