Synopsis "Volunteering, Motivation and HRM Practices in Faith Based Organization"
The development sector has seen a paradigm shift and has been growing exponentially since previous decades. The sector has experienced credential yet unacknowledged efforts from the development organizations and institutions that attach themselves with some religious faith. Just as other non-governmental organizations, these religiously affiliated entities also heavily reply on volunteering activities and promote volunteering in the area they work. The aim of this WORK is to focus on Faith Based Organizations (FBO) and add to literature its differences (with respect to volunteering) with Secular Volunteer Organizations (VO) and study different human resource management techniques used to keep volunteers motivated and retained. Due to scarce literature and work available on human resource management in Faith Based Organization (especially at the time of start of this research), exploratory analysis using inductive research methods is adopted.
