Synopsis "Wilder: A Social Justice Phantasy"
"Wilder: A Social Justice Phantasy," is a thought experiment that explains in a logical, easy to read manner a concept of social justice that is based on personal responsibility (Sartre), rationality (Kant), and fairness (Rawls). Although each of these philosophers are difficult to understand the experiment brings their theories together in a clear powerful way; much as Einstein's thought experiments brought together his concept of specific relativity. The setting for the experiment is inside a mother's womb; The characters are fetuses who do not know what their inborn traits are, or what type of society they will be born into. From this "original position," a rational theory of social and political justice is developed, which hopefully will contribute to a better, fairer world.
