Synopsis "Wind emulator integrating an FPGA"

This book presents the study, design and implementation of a wind energy conversion system based on a wind emulator, intended for research. The control strategies chosen for this system are implemented in a hardware environment via an FPGA using the XSG graphics methodology. To this end, the first part deals with generalities on wind energy and the different energy conversion structures. In this context, a state of the art on wind energy emulation is presented. The second part of this book is reserved for the study, the modeling and the implementation of the control of the wind emulator by two types of controller, namely the conventional PI controller and the fuzzy controller on FPGA target. In order to validate the developed studies, an experimental testbed is set up in the third part. This platform is essentially built around a MCC fed by a serial chopper, controlled by a PWM strategy implemented digitally on an FPGA target.
