Synopsis "Word Play Series 1 Winter: Emotional Spasms"

In Word Play, the author shares prose and poetry about motherhood, marriage, loss, spiritual welfare, living with bipolar disorder, and more. Featuring the author's own work, as well as heartfelt additions from friends and family, this book offers readers a glimpse of one woman's season of growth in the midst of an array of trials. At all times, the book points back to how faith in God can help us overcome our most difficult situations. Kenya "The Visionair" Phillips is the owner and CEO of Recovery World LLC, a Christian Life Coaching Practice; whereby, their mission is to support individuals in recovering from traumas. Kenya is an African American woman who is a recent widow, a mother of an eight-year-old daughter, minister, author, poet extraordinaire, coach, mentor, change agent, and a friend of the community who is unapologetic about her experience with mental illness. Despite the fact that a great deal of society tends to write off those that are experiencing mental illness as stuck or probably won't make it; Kenya has always found a way to break through the barriers of stigma and beat the odds of failure to achieve many successes and foster supports for herself and others. Currently, she uses her recovery story, poetic voice, ministry of helps, and creativity to express her support and mutuality to those that choose to embrace their experience with mental illness; as well as those who don't and need understanding regarding peer recovery and holistic health. She offers the opportunity to present and passionately share her journey of resilience and homage in her community by way of shared testament and written narrative.
