Synopsis "Working conditions and teaching and learning in Physical Education"
The purpose of this book is to reflect on the teaching practice of high school physical education teachers in the public schools of Formosa, Goiás. Teachers took part, and from their perspective we describe and analyse the information collected in the fieldwork, with the aim of understanding the construction of the Physical Education teacher's teaching practice. The research is qualitative in nature, as our interest centres on the practice of secondary school PE teachers, their workplace and the conditions that surround them. Ethnography was therefore the most appropriate approach for the purposes envisaged. We opted for semi-structured interviews (1), lesson observation (2), field diaries (3) and document analysis (4), such as programmes and/or mapping of secondary school content in the schools investigated. The information was interpreted based on the construction of four thematic blocks resulting from the thematic proximity of the ten categories of analysis that emerged from the interviews with the research participants.
