Siddham is the mind. The Siddhas are those who subdue the wandering mind and focus on God. Among them are 18 Siddhars like Thirumoolar, Agathiyar, Ramadeva Siddhar, Idaikadar, Dhanvantari, Valmiki, Kamalamuni, Pokar, Machchamuni, Konkanar, Patanjali, Nandi Thevar, Bodhakuru, Pambatti Siddhar, Chattaimuni, Sundaranandar, Kudambaichidhar, Korakkar. Apart from these, more than a hundred men are on the list of other Siddhas. Are there any women Siddhas? The question arose in me as to whether women made any effort to reach the Lord's feet. Very few people like Ovvai, Andal and Karaikal Ammaiyar come to our minds as women with unwavering devotion to the Lord. In an attempt to get to know those who lived at recent times or a few hundred years ago, I have compiled here what I have read, heard and learned.
