Synopsis "Zalacain el aventurero (in Spanish)"

La obra narra las aventuras y desventuras de un muchacho vasco, Martín Zalacaín, nacido en Urbía y criado por el viejo Miguel Tellagorri, un cínico de la taberna del Arcale. Su hermana, la Ñasía o Ignacia es pretendida de amores por el señorito Carlos de Ohando, su enemigo y hermano de Catalina de Ohando, a la que Zalacaín ama, por lo que Zalacaín la casa con un amigo suyo, Martín Bautista, ayudante del panadero del pueblo, que se irá a vivir a Zaro, un pueblecito vascofrancés, pero que luego acompañará a Martín Zalacaín en muchas de sus correrías.
