Synopsis "A Biblical View Of Prosperity: From a Coal Miner's Son"
A Biblical View of Prosperity from a Coal Miner's Son tells the story of a simple man and a son whose lives were parallel but ran very different courses. From an early age there were two things that Wayne knew; that he loved the game of football and he needed his father's approval. Football came easily because of his raw talent. However, Wayne's mother's love drove a wedge between him and his father and made getting his father's approval nearly impossible. Wayne's ambition to be the best coupled with an unrelenting desire to please his father motivated him to play through high school and into college. Wayne's father was a mystery to him and tragically his father's life was taken too soon. Along with his father's life went any hope of a stronger bond between them and the approval that drove Wayne. Aimlessly, Wayne continued to pursue success. First in the restaurant industry becoming one of the first regional managers of a Shoney's restaurant chain. And then moving into retail management where he ran one the most profitable carpet stores in the tri-state region, all before the age of 30. He continued to climb. Owning various businesses, starting new professions, and becoming a true entrepreneur. But without his father, Wayne's compass of success could find no destination. In A Biblical View of Prosperity from a Coal Miner's Son Wayne discovered the father he never knew - a man who, with only a fifth-grade education, used his wits and moxie to pull himself up from a depression era "holler" to leasing and running his own coal mine. Wayne uncovered his father's relationship with Christ and rebuilt his own faith in the process.
