No longer spring chickens, long term friends Rosie and Lena have embarked on their ' great adventure' running a bed and breakfast establishment close to the wild and windy Brecon Beacons, turning their backs on the humdrum lives they had endured for most of their adult existence. This idyllic life is turned upside down by events outside of their control. Rosie receives a distraught call from her daughter relaying that Rosie's grandson Jamie has been abducted by his Spanish father, whom he has met only a few times in his young life. In the subsequent chaos that follows the English and Spanish families are united in their search for a compromise to this impossible situation. Jamie's two uncles attempt to take charge of the situation. Their mutual love of Jamie and their common passion of golf goes a long way to cementing their relationship. Initially their sole aim is to resolve the abduction crisis. Later they have a 'fanciful' notion to join forces to attempt to design and build a golf course in the beautiful Spanish countryside but are thwarted by several obstacles. Will they be able to convince and find financial backers? Will both families warm to the idea? Will it ever come to fruition? Meanwhile Lena's family are enduring their own drama - her sister is suffering from depression and needs Lena's support, can Lena give her the time and run the business with Rosie - will she make the right decision, will their Welsh dream become a distant memory, or will love conquer all? This is a story that tells the tale of ordinary people who fight adversity along the way, where love and life become intertwined. It is a story portraying the tale of family commitment and a great determination to succeed whatever the odds are against them.
