Wasser- und Sedimentproben wurden an vier Stellen während der Regen- und Trockenzeit analysiert. Die erzielten Ergebnisse wurden mit peruanischen und kanadischen Umweltstandards verglichen. Die Konzentration der Metalle im Wasser überschreitet nicht die Nachweisgrenzen; in den Sedimenten ist kein Kadmium vorhanden; die Arsenkonzentration in den Stationen Nr. 1 (58 mg/kg) und Nr. 2 (52 mg/kg) übersteigt die von der kanadischen Norm (6 mg/kg) und der peruanischen ECA (50 mg/kg) festgelegten Höchstgrenzen; Quecksilber überschreitet an den Stationen Nr. 3 (0,3 mg/kg) und Nr. 4 (0,4 mg/kg) die von der kanadischen Norm festgelegten Grenzwerte (0,2 mg/kg), Blei liegt innerhalb der von der kanadischen Norm (35 mg/kg) und der peruanischen ECA (70 mg/kg) erlaubten Grenzen.
