Synopsis "Biotechnological fungicidal potential of Citrus limettioides Tan."
This study presents in a novel way the objective of drying the skin of C. limettioides Tan. applying mathematical modeling, quantifying the phenolic and total flavonoid content and evaluating the antimicrobial potential of a stable nanoemulsion using a low energy method. With the results obtained, it was possible to determine that the logarithmic mathematical model was the one that best matched the experimental data. The quantified total phenolic content was 75,124 mg TEA g-1 and flavonoids 99.22 mg TEE g-1. EO and nanoemulsion showed fungicidal activity against all microorganisms tested. The results obtained prove the potential required for the application of EO and the nanoemulsion of C. limettioides Tan skin as an antimicrobial, encouraging the potential for EO application.
