Synopsis "Black Moon Rising"
In 1933, twelve-year-old Jimmy Jackson takes his sister and friend to see an eagle's nest, and finds a body in the woods instead. He later discovers that the body was in fact his father, who had gone to prison when Jimmy was five. Their mother tells them that their father had robbed a bank where two men were killed, and was given life in prison. An accomplice had been gunned down, but the money was never found. The local sheriff, a long-time friend of his father, suspected another person was behind the robbery, and the money was never found. He believes Jimmy's father had broken out of prison to get his share of the money, which Jimmy's mother needs badly. Jimmy is determined to find the money, both to restore honor to his family name and for the reward, which could help his mother keep their home. Within a week, another man is murdered, and Jimmy's black friend is accused of the killing. The KKK threatens to lynch his friend. Can Jimmy save his friend, knowing to do so he must confront the Klan and solve two murders?
