Synopsis "Encore: An Anthology: Stories and Poems"
Encore is a collection of eighteen previously written stories and poems which have been selected for other notable anthologies. I enjoy reading short fiction and poetry, and sometimes have expanded such idea pieces in my other nineteen books. It is my hope that other writers will try writing in these genres before jumping into longer perhaps more intimidating writing projects.As a writer, I enjoy exploring ideas both in short pieces and in novels, memoir, devotional guides, amd nonfiction. This is a collection of favorite stories on multiple topics and several settings. Some were written on specific themes, some eventually found expansion in my novel series and other books of fiction, and some were recreational pieces which were fun to write at a specific time and place. I never know where and when the muse will strike. Some of these pieces were because of writing prompts of ideas I used as a language arts teacher for forty years; some were suggested by people I know and love, or by settings. I loved teaching short pieces and would love to have found an anthology like this for classroom use. For other writers out there, perhaps writing short pieces is not as intimidating as beginning a novel or full-length project. May these pieces be your inspiration.
