Synopsis "Entrepreneurial Behaviour of Dairy Farmers- A multidimensional study"
Entrepreneurship has been accepted globally as an effective tool for widening the entrepreneurial base for those who have poor financial resources or managerial background. Jammu district of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has immense potential for entrepreneurship development in terms of diversity of rural occupations. Considering the importance of dairy farming in Jammu district and the need of development of entrepreneurship in this sector the study entitled "Entrepreneurial Behaviour of Dairy Farmers - A multidimensional study" was undertaken. The data was collected with the help of a well-structured interview schedule through personal interview technique. Majority of the respondents possessed medium level of overall knowledge regarding SDFPs and CDFPs. Highest EBI (78.4) was found in "Manageability" attribute of entrepreneurial behaviour. The study was concluded with the impression that dairy entrepreneurship has a very bright future ahead if various factors identified through SWOT and STEEP analysis are well taken by the Govt. and implementing agencies for improving the entrepreneurial behaviour of dairy farmers from the existing moderate level to high level.
