Synopsis "Fair are the Meadows"
"Fair Are The Meadows" is the story of three mature single women, cousins, who are descendants of a distinguished ancestor, Gideon Chase. They live in Zenobia, a city in the American Midwest. One of the cousins, Clare Szabo, lives in a mansion built by Gideon Chase. She is the guardian of the family legacy. The cousins are members of a radical Feminist denomination. The novel describes their relationships with the men in their lives and the tension between their legacy and their progressive beliefs.
