Synopsis "Floyd Ragsdale: A Soldier Who Dodged Death in WWII"
Floyd Ragsdale moved around during the Great Depression. In 1943, he was drafted into the United States Army. He was sent to Belgium with the 106th Infantry Golden Lion Division. He thought he was getting an easy assignment until he found himself fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. This battle was 44 days long, and the soldiers had to fight through extremely harsh conditions, such as heavy snow, freezing temperatures, and lack of resources. Floyd had near-death experiences from bombs and gunfire. Author Luke Bradburn and Illustrator Zach Cantwell wonderfully depicted Floyd's heroic story.
