Synopsis "In Sanity: The Story of Stephen Mercer"

In Sanity is a series of novels that takes a careful look at the people and events that change us. The series focuses on what happens when one is pushed past the point of sanity and what it takes to make a normal and harmless person become a monster. The first in the series, The Story of Stephen Mercer, is about a boy that only ever needed someone to love him for what and who he was; after enduring the abuse of his father and being outcast by his peers, he finally found someone that cared about him: Bret Benly. The love was short lived, however, because Bret had a checkered past and a 'friend' that embodied pure evil. When Bret was murdered everything Stephen had was taken away. He lost control of himself, and the only thing he had left was revenge. This story is about what happened as a result of Stephen's drive for vengeance and justice, the mysterious circumstances surrounding Bret's past, and the sadistic killer that tore them apart.
