"Trading Places" was the theme for the 16th Momaya Press Short Story competition. The stories we received dealt us equal shares of heartbreak and laughter. Yearning, despair, and, quite frequently, compassion. Mistaken identities and stolen moments.What we discovered, in the end, was that we each have something another person wishes for. We all have things to offer, blessings to share. This year's collection of stories teaches us that life is precious, even more so when we learn to see the bigger picture, to look at life through another person's eyes. And really, isn't that what storytelling is all about?Momaya Press provides a international platform for writers from around the globe. For sixteen years, outstanding tales penned by people of all ages and backgrounds have graced our desks. Each year, our judges spend the summer determining which stories will win. It is never easy. Each voice is unique, special, and appreciated. But in the end, only a handful will make it into the prestigious Momaya Short Story Review.
