He studied Religion/Religious Studies at Howard University (A.A.) and has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Behavioral Sciences from Wilmington University. He is also the proprietor of Salisbury Removal/ Baron Hopkins Sr. & Son Trucking, which is a licensed and bonded freight shipping and trucking company in Fruitland, Maryland. Dr. Hopkins is a chaplain (MAJ) in the Maryland National Guard.
