The bond that existed between father and son, developed in the later years, centered around a certain loneliness they both experienced despite being surrounded by loving friends and family. Truth will soon be a key as to why that was the case. Ricks family continues to face life-threatening challenges, but the love and the training they had received from Ricks mysterious father helps them to face those challenges and survive. The real life cultural and geographical references make for an interesting read. The gifts of true friendship, the comfort and protection of true family life and loyalty continue to be a theme in this book as in the others. As the exciting events unfold, readers will find many good things that come from understanding the human experience as it oft times is.
