La protagonista de esta novela, Sayuri Miyamoto, frustrada por no poder enrolarse en el escuadron de las ""Alas de Dios"", pues las mujeres no eran admitidas, decide arriesgar su vida en el intento, pues esta sedienta de venganza tras la muerte de su hermano y su mejor amiga a manos del enemigo. / During the Second World War in the Japanese empire trained pilots were used to make suicide missions, organized into squadrons.
