Synopsis "Study and appropriation of metacognition in children"
This research adheres to the positivist paradigm; likewise, it obeys the application of quantitative approaches such as observational and Ex Post Facto. The objectives proposed in the research, which consist in the first instance to identify the metacognitive levels of comprehension and reading fluency in 5th grade students of the educational institution La Ye Salitral headquarters, to design metacognitive strategies in the teaching of Natural Sciences focused on the comprehension of texts from the diagnostic results. Subsequently, assessing the applicability of metacognitive strategies that lead the child to an organized and planned study corresponds to the metacognitive strategies, the subject of study in this research and which are proposed from the following logic: Strategy of identification of resources to use, Strategy previous ideas, Text comprehension, Strategy of self-evaluation and Reflection strategy.
