Synopsis "Teaching English Using Audio-Visual Aids in Lower Secondary School"
When teaching foreign languages, the teachers should never forget the overwhelming importance of the audio-visual and behave consequently, paying utmost attention to what stimulates learning: the audio-visual aids. The communicational revolution has brought forth an explosion of communicational means, which store, transmit, manipulate information; some way or another these means should be rapidly incorporated in our teaching. An audio-visual presentation is a powerful teaching tool that will leave a lasting impression of the things presented. The most precious of all 'audio-visual' elements is the TEACHER! Through mimics, gestures, signals, the teacher can bring the whole world in the classroom! This book is an outcome of my constant professional concern to create and endow the language laboratory with the necessary audio-visual aids, path to modern, communicative teaching where the learners react and respond completely to our teaching, thus becoming competent speakers of English. This paper is, ultimately, food for the language teachers' thoughts and can motivate students to become successful learners and competent speakers of English.
