Synopsis "Teaching Imaginative Composition Art and Craft in Ugandan Schools"
The new book focuses on the effect of using powder paints in teaching P615/4 at A' level secondary schools in the Kabale District (southwestern Uganda). The main concern was that despite many art teachers' training in art and craft double main which includes powder painting in P615/4, they have not been able to teach it effectively at A' level in Kabale District. It was established that inefficient teaching of powder paints in P615/4 was due to the lack of powder paints in A' level secondary schools of Kabale District because schools never provided powder paints, tools, and other facilities for learning and teaching P615/4 to students, teaching methods using powder paints were not effectively used in teaching P615/4 leading to poor performance in P615/4 in UACE and teachers were not qualified enough to teach powder paints in P615/4 at A' level since the majority were diploma art teachers.
